Fall orientation is Monday September 5th. Commencing at 10:00 in the morning on both schools new students and their parents will be welcomed by the staff and faculty of Saint James School of Medicine. Executives from the Chicago office will also attend these events so you may have a chance to meet some of the people who guided you through your Admissions process. Dean of Basic Sciences, Dr. Ravinder Kenue and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Bruce Davidson will welcome the students in Bonaire. Dean of Basic Sciences, Dr. Claude Iliou and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alexey Podcheko will address the students in Anguilla. Once the formal welcome is completed, refreshments will be served and you will have the time to mingle and meet your fellow students. Members of the faculty and the Student Government Association (SGA) will also be at the event and this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and to ask them any questions you might have. After Orientation there is a bus tour for new students around the islands, so you can get a feel for the history and geography of the islands and spend more time with your new colleagues. The bus tour is always a fun way to start the term, so do come along. This year in Bonaire, on Tuesday September 6, there is a public holiday, so to take advantage of this we have organized a beach volleyball game for new students down at the Plaza Resort Beach. Come along and show us your skills. Or just take the opportunity to sit in the sun and think about the exciting term ahead and all the new things you are about to learn. Either way it will be great, so we hope to see you there.
