Transplant surgery is a complicated procedure and can often have serious risks to the patient waiting for the new organ that will give them new hope in life. The process of being eligible to receive a transplant can be daunting, emotional, scary, and will require a lot of patience. A doctor must consider the patient’s unique medical history and forecast how their bodies will respond and adjust to the new organ(s).
