General Surgery post-op involves several critical steps in order for the patient to recover fully. Physicians and nurses will closely monitor patients to ensure successful healing. Depending on the nature of surgery, medical personnel must watch for signs of healthy vitals, which could include but is not limited to: resting heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory health, bowel movements, ability to consume and maintain food, mental state and reactions to any medications that’s been prescribed.
