USMLE Step 2 Process Updates

Here at SJSM, we want to ensure our students' success, especially when it comes to the USMLE. Read on to learn how we've changed our process for step 2 of the USMLE.  USMLE Step 2 Effective June 1, 2016 – All students will be required to pass the NBME Comprehensive Clinical Science Exam (CCSE) before being certified for Step 2 CK.

• $150 fee will be charged for each exam to be paid during the next billing cycle.
• Must sign up for exam six weeks in advance, so plan accordingly.
• Visit the Prequal Page for more information and to register for the exam.

Effective June 1, 2016 – All students will be required to complete Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Surgery core rotations before taking the Step 2 CK pre-qualification exam or being certified for Step 2 CS. Effective September 1, 2017 – All students will be required to complete all six core rotations before taking the Step 2 CK pre-qualification exam or being certified for Step 2 CS. Additional information will be provided to you as you progress through the program.
