Course Performance Award- System-Based Curriculum
This award is meant to reward and recognize current SJSM students who demonstrate outstanding achievement on the NBME Customized Assessment Exams or the Comprehensive Basic Science Exam each semester. This award is open to all students in the Basic Sciences enrolled in the system-based coursework.
Criteria:
- An award shall be granted each semester to the three highest-performing students on NBME assessments. Student rankings will be determined based on the average score of all NBME Customized Assessment Exams administered during the applicable course and term. For fifth-semester students, the ranking criterion shall be performance on the NBME Comprehensive Basic Science Exam (CBSE).
- The top three-ranked students in each course will receive the award. In the event of a tie for third place, the third-place award shall be divided equally among the students who are tied.
Award:
- Students who meet the above-mentioned criteria will receive a $2,000 credit on their financial account upon publication of the score reports.
Application:
- Students who satisfy the above criteria shall automatically be granted the award at the beginning of the subsequent semester, upon official finalization and approval of grades for the semester in question.
Subject-Based Scholarships
- Any students taking coursework under the Subject-Based Curriculum should follow the scholarship criteria and awards under the NBME Performance Award scholarship.
