Why I love teaching:

CDC USA describes epidemiology as "...the scientific method of investigation problem-solving used by disease detectives— epidemiologists, laboratory scientists, statisticians, physicians and other health care providers, and public health professionals—to get to the root of health problems and outbreaks in a community..." I fell in love with the science because it can really depend the understanding of health problems by considering multiple variables associated with human diseases - beyond the biological, such as lifestyle choices, social and political contexts... The discipline has saved millions of lives, from both infectious and non-communicable diseases, through interventions and preventative programs that have been implemented as a result of study findings. Although it differs from the clinical sciences in that it looks at entire populations as opposed to individuals, I hope that students will gain an appreciation for the study's contribution to human health and well-being through this course.

Outside of classroom:

My hobbies include playing volleyball and playing classical piano.
